What are some good nonfiction books for a young adult to read?
I recently finished all the books i wanted to study for 2007 (so i was a week late, big deal), could you recommend some good books (reasons would be accommodating) for me to read in 2008? I enjoy mainly nonfiction. I have already read, and loved, books

Nonfiction review: David Bowie: Starman
"David Bowie: Starman" is an meritorious rock bio. Trynka, formerly editor in chief of "Mojo" magazine and the author of a biography about Iggy Pop, has done wonderful reporting here, and his close readings of Bowie's canon are compelling, too.
Even shorn of his shape-shifting mysteries, Bowie remains a powerfully intriguing artist.
Trynka's gratefulness for Bowie's artistic achievements doesn't sabotage his work as a biographer, either. This is no hagiography. Look on his assessment of Bowie's retraction of his claim to be bisexual.
Bowie had complained "about the commercial hurt that his image had cost him in America" as a result of his declaration, Trynka writes. "Rarely has such a unthinking act of courage been followed by such a considered act of cowardice."

Guarding the Golden Door

He explains how distinctive rules and......
