Can you put shades on a chandelier if the existing glass shades...?
....features upwards, instead of the usual downwards?
We have a chandelier in our home which has glass shades/bowls and I insufficiency to make it a little contemporary by putting shades. I can't sit the shades directly on the convex shaped bulbs,
I don't grasp if you can switch them out without seeing the chandelier however, the shades that are sold for these pieces have clamps that are meant to fit on the bulbs.

Solution for placing chandelier over kitchen table?
I own a condo, and have a part above mine (therefore no attic). I currently have a ceiling fan in my dining area which is not where I want it. I want to replace the fan with a ornament ceiling light, however I will also need to move it about 2 feet.
Why do you desperatly long for a chain for ?
Hang it with the pendant rod from every hook you place above the center of the table - flying electrical link - no chain !

Does the decor of the interior need to match the style of the home?
My Mom's legislative body is a dark-brown stained one story contemporary with a garage on the front (yuck!) and a skylight in the living compartment. I am confused about helping her redecorate b/c the person who built it has everything from a fancy chandelier
It is unerring to decorate in the style of the home. There is a continuity of flow throughout. Many people however do not. They dress there homes in a sort with which they are comfortable. It would be off to see a Victorian home decorated in an Asian
