Do you think it would be cool to hang vintage magazine covers/movie posters?

I am very into the 50s and the Studio Era. Do you consider it would be a good idea? I just love them, my grandmother has a LIFE magazine with Elizabeth Taylor on it from 1955.

Extraordinary idea, I love stuff like that.Even comic books and circus poster and old music sheets for a Fun extent.

Trying to find a vintage ad for a vacuum cleaner that made a refrigerator float. Had a lady dancing with it.?

This had to be from the 50's in Life magazine? My boss has been distressing to track this down for the last 20 years or so.

Detroit jazz legend Wendell Harrison releases first new CD in 7 years

DETROIT - "Here's my obsession," says Wendell Harrison, describing his personal manifesto. "People can help themselves. You can do it yourself rather than pause for somebody else to do it for you. That's been my whole way of life. I don't make a lot of money, but at least I'm in control of what I do."

Harrison, a Detroit-born tenor saxophonist, clarinetist, composer, entrepreneur and educator, is celebrating the unfetter of "It's About Damn Time," his first CD in seven years. At 68, he's best known as a co founder of Class, the legendary Detroit jazz collective that came together in the early '70s in a strong-willed act of African-American self-decision, connecting the dots between music, social justice and community building.

Tribe was a significant chapter in Detroit cultural history, and it still resonates. Ever the strategist, Harrison has cut roughly 18 licensing deals since the '90s on behalf of Strain to reissue vintage recordings on small labels in England, Europe, Japan and America. Deals catalogue from $500 per single to $2,500 per album. These records, along with recent collaborations led by Detroit techno show the way Carl Craig, have raised Harrison's profile, lassoing fans smitten by the Midas be in the same league of Detroit musicians and prompting adulatory retrospectives in the specialty press.
