Why do people stick with political parties like they do a sports team?
Many of us uplift for our favorite sports team no matter what. I am a Knicks fan, they stink and have stunk for years now, but I still support them. It's sports so there is no evil in this.
But in politics it seems like people stick up
It's called "Associative Marketing". Another illustration would be Harley Davidson. Lots of people have a logo tattoo somewhere. Many of them would fight if they perceived an asperse to their beloved bike.

Today is the day
Today is the day. Failure sports practices officially begin today.
Many teams kicked off their fall seasons with camps last week but today is the first proper practice date.
That means I can start working on fall sports previews.
I have already been hard at drudgery on the next issue of the Prep Insider, although I have to admit I am still toying with a cover photo. I don't want to say that our magazine has the same cursing power as Sports Illustrated or the Bait video game, but I will say that I am starting to get worried about jinxing a person or team by choosing them for the stretch over. After the summer season did not end in Des Moines with a certain team in blue, I am beginning to debate a PI damnation.
In our first year, we have not featured a state champion on the cover of the PI. We have seen cover teams lend to state (i.e. Gehlen football - the Wurth brothers were the cover of the first issue; Gehlen track - the girls' commute hurdle relay team placed second
