Retail space opens on Main for art, crafts, boutique shops

NAME: Shoppes on Strength

WHEN IT OPENED: Dec. 4, 2011

WHERE: 580 Main St., Stroudsburg.

ABOUT THE STORE: It's a 4,500-square-foot retail mall of 14 booths, eight kiosks and craft walls as well as an art gallery displaying the calling of more than 20 local artists and sculptors, and Sweet Irene's Cafe, which sells baked goods and lunch specials.

There is a wide variety: for example, women's apparel, artwork by townsperson artist Marcia Flummonde and photography by Leslie Nagy, body scrubs, candles and goat's withdraw lotion, handmade dog biscuits and dog apparel.
